Awarded annually by the Cape Cod and Islands Library Association, applications are now being accepted for the Association's Christine Rose Scholarship. Staff of libraries on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket, and members of CCILA are eligible to apply for scholarships which can be used for library-related courses (including technology training) and workshops.
Christine Rose was the Assistant Director of the Jonathan Bourne Library from 1988 until 1995 when she lost her courageous battle with cancer. She always encouraged those who worked with her to further their careers through continuing education. The Association’s scholarship was named in her memory in 1995. Donations to the Christine Rose Scholarship fund may be sent to the CCILA Treasurer, Truro Public Library, P.O. Box 357, North Truro, MA 02652. CCILA is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.
Application for the scholarship should include the application form and supporting documentation. Funds will be awarded upon receipt of documentation that the course or workshop was successfully completed. Address your application to: CCILA c/o Claire Gradone, Brewster Ladies’ Library, 1822 Main St., Brewster, MA 02631.
Applications for 2011 scholarships will be accepted until August 31, 2011.
